Comments

See article on the Roco box Puerta del Sol in Loco-Revue No. 544 of January 1992, page 58 which contains the same car with the same UIC number!

Too high on the two-suspension point end.

There are power pickup strips connected to the axle bearings. See on this subject DB coaches equipped with the same device. To see more closely when I succeed into dismantling the body. The roof is disengaged by pulling up and not sliding as indicated in the instruction sheet.

See gamos81.altervista.org for the reference list of issued SNCF UH sleeping car models.

Modifications

  • Body lowered by 0.5 on the two-suspension point end by milling these.
  • Bogies, wheels, brake blocks, and roof painted. Axles with non-insulated wheels, isolated by the middle (sleeves). The painting of bogies enhances them, as can be seen on this picture.
  • Ballast (48 g) removed.

History

Coach belonging to the series No. 4581 to 4620, built in 1957 by Hansa-Bremen. The Wagons-lits website gives the UIC number 64 87 71-81 783-6. The numbering difference concerns steam heating. It has probably been removed during the career, hence the transition from 8 to 7.

Note: the exchange code 64 in the UIC number means Variable gauge coach from 1435 to 1672 by axle change, special regime, which is explained for a coach intended to cross the Spanish border.
