Roco 63435
BB 63888
285 g / 1.1 A
Green livery. Metz depot. The yellow lines should extend over the exhaust pipes.
The width is forced about 2 mm, probably due to the size of the motor.
The buffer bases are not shown. The guard rails go up at the cab level because the mounting holes are incorrectly positioned.
See gamos81.altervista.org for the reference list of issued BB 63000 models.
Locomotives built in 580 units from 1956 to 1971 by Brissonneau & Lotz - Sulzer - SACM. Power 450 kW (12-cylinder V-shaped MGO diesel engine, 610 kW at 1500 rpm). Maximum speed: 90 km/h. Weight 68 t.
BB 63888 is put into service on 1st July 1964 in La Rochelle. Successive depots: Nantes (5-70), Achères (5-75), La Plaine (4-77), Sotteville (6-79), Metz (10-82). It is transformed into BB 64721 in June 1992. Last depot: Metz.
Concerning the “heating” BB 63500, quote from Ferrovissimo No. 4 (see below). The magazine does not say when these machines were equipped, but it is probably in the late 1960s.
The BB 63 896, 63 901, 63 902 and 63 906 received an auxiliary alternator and 1500 V heating cables for heating a train the composition of which did not exceed seven coaches. These four machines were used to pull “main lines” passenger trains passing through the tracks of the Little Belt of Paris between Paris-Nord and Paris-Lyon stations.
