Comments

Brass bearings. The brake linkages are bent, wander and rub on the wheels.

These wagons will deserve a severe weathering! Also provide for a load of ore. The recent imported ore is almost neutral grey. See this picture (towards the middle of page), or this other one, on the Loco Revue Forum. But the minette lorraine of the 1970s had a colour ranging from yellow ochre to red ochre through brown, depending on the geological layer, the iron content and the physico-chemical composition of the ore. See the Géologie du bassin ferrifère lorrain website.

Modifications

Brake lever linkage mounted. Buffer handles mounted after milling of the NEM boxes.

History

According to the Loco-Revue Forum, these wagons were built in the 1950s.

The bogies are of CFMCF design (Compagnie française de matériel de chemin de fer — French Railway Equipment Company, future Frangeco), in 1948. See on the drehgestelle.de website, extremely well documented, but in German, the Y25_cfmcf page.
