Brand - Reference

REE WB-752

Type

Uas T1 type D12-6 ballast hopper of 39 m3.

UIC number Revision date
80 87 977 7 321-1 9.7.79
Home base: Longueau (Somme).

Weight

57 g (NEM: 65 to 85 g).

Comments

A nice, very detailed wagon. The thin railings don’t look too fragile. The ballast distribution drums are swivelling, but too free: they don’t stay in the chosen position.

This wagon is too light. A metal chassis would have been better.

Supplied with brake hoses, but without any location on the buffer beam. The buffers are spring-loaded.

The wheel back-to-back distance complies with the NEM. See axle specifications in the dimensions table.

Longitudinal dimensions are approximately 1.5 mm too large.

See the Loco-Revue Forum.

Modifications

  • Laying a load of ballast. See the loaded hopper. The weight rises to 85 g, the maximum allowed by the NEM.

History

Specialized track ballasting hoppers, built from 1970 by Arbel on the same chassis as the E7 hoppers (see next page). Capacity 39 m3.

The three dampers per side, operated by levers on the platform, allow the ballast to be dumped either outside or inside the track using rotating drums also controlled from the platform.
