Brand - Reference

Roco 64676

Type

1st / 2nd class ABm225 coach of the West Germany Railways (Deutsche Bundesbahn) in ocean blue and beige livery.

UIC number Revision date
51 80 31-70 081-9 26.7.89

Weight

172 g (NEM: 121 to 158 g)

Comments

1st / 2nd class coach of the DB. Era IVb. Half-opening windows do not have their panes staggered as on ABüm223 ref. 64497. The gangway rubber joints are shown compressed, but not hollow.

Lighting pre-equipment: axles rotate in metal bearings, but are not half-insulated. Electrical connection parts are provided, but the instructions do not say anything about their location. Wheels not burnished.

Value for money better than for Roco SNCF productions.

Coach too low (about 0.6 to 0.7 mm), and unfortunately “banana shaped” as shown in this photo compressed to highlight the defect (and this is not a deformation due to the camera). If you doubt, go and see the Jouef MU sleeping car whose deformation is opposite, photo taken under the same conditions. Roco ABm 225 coach “banana shaped”

See gamos81.altervista.org for the reference list of issued DB UIC-X coach models.

Modifications

  • Floor and wall decoration by printed and cut adhesive photo paper.
  • Painted wheels on half isolated axles.
  • Lighting controlled by bistable reed switch.
  • Raising of 0.75 mm on average.
