Comments

Non-functional lights (under study).

The railings would be better remade in metal. On the original, the flag holders, the lamp holders and the lifting supports are not arranged in the same way (see among others RailFanEurope). The front shutters are very coarse. In reality, they have 24 bars.

See gamos81.altervista.org for the reference list of issued Y8000 models.

Modifications

  • Preparation for lighting: milling of grooves in front rails, drilling of holes for the passage of wires and milling of the chassis. Milling of the PCB.
  • Viessmann 5242 decoder. Auxiliary PCBs made.

History

The Y 8000 is almost anachronistic for me (first delivery late 1977, year of appearance of the “Arzens” livery).

First ones assigned to Lens: Y 8070 on 4 April 1979, Y 8075 on 14 May 1979. To Longueau: Y 8082 on 20 July 1979, Y 8086 on 24 September 1979. There are others, but out of period and / or in Freight livery.

As for the Y 8400, it appeared in 1989. The Y 8548 is put into service on 8 March 1995 in Lens.
