Era IVb (1980 to 1990).
Wheels ⌀ 10.3 (for 10.6 real), axles 25.3 between ends.
Fine engraving. Spring buffers. Generally finer than its flat sided colleague (example: ladder). The height is too low of more than 1 mm, which would not be too troublesome if that of the flat-sided wagons was not too high of 0.8 mm, which gives a very visible offset when the two types are coupled together.
The wagons ref. 6246 of the 2022 generation have the following modifications: wheels ⌀ 10.1; 1.1 mm flanges; back-to-back wheel spacing 14.3 (NEM 14.5 ± 0,1); axle length 25 mm.
These wagons have a less well-fitted body than their predecessors: gaps can be seen between the body and the ends on the one hand, and the chassis on the other. The gangway railings are askew on both wagons. The dummy hooks cannot be fitted as they are, because their tenon measures 1.7 × 2.3 mm whereas the mortise of the buffer beam measures 1.5 × 2 mm…
The Millet wagon, item no. HJ6246-1, has very different emptying hatches than the others. See the photo of the real wagon below. According to Patrick Sambourg on the Loco-Revue forum, it is part of a sub-series of over 800 units numbered from 33 87 934 5 000 to 5 8xx. In fact, the number of the Millet is actually within this range.
The CTC wagon HJ6246-2 has only two towing hooks at one end. I don’t know if this is compliant.
