Comments

Set of three coaches. The numbering is correct, and concerns a set of the program 1969 delivered in 1971-72.

But beware: recent discussions (2022) on the Loco-Revue forum have shown that all RIBs since the first version produced by Lima have RIB 76 bodies, recognisable by the ventilators aligned in the roof axis. The registration of the present train set is therefore wrong from this point of view.

No red lights. No elongation draw bars nor NEM boxes (contrary to the catalogue announcement). Specific snap-on couplings. Wheels ⌀ 8.2 too small, but with 1.3 mm flanges, huge!

Two complementary coaches. One could be re-numbered 50 87 22-07 043-2.

Modifications

  • Train Magique dia. 9 mm wheels.
  • Red lights, cab fittings, parallelogram wiper, front windows better fitted.
  • Lenz LF101XF decoder.
  • Makette KKK1 drawbars with integrated electrical contact device. The end coupling towards the loco is also replaced with a modified Makette drawbar. 3-point suspension by Evergreen rectangular profiles of 1 × 0.25 mm.

History

The RIB 70 program, ordered from 1969 to 1973, was delivered from 1970 to 1975. The details of registrations and the number of coaches by type is given opposite (source: Encyclopédie des voitures SNCF by A. Rambaud and J.-M Dupuy, 1990, La Vie du Rail Publishing).

The trains usually consist of four coaches and usually run in double units (thus eight coaches). But there are also three-coach and even seven-coach configurations on Saint-Lazare, the latter with a ZR ABDz intermediate trailer.
