Volvo 343 1976 PCX87

A lovely model with a slightly hesitant scale. The windows are all flush (Brekina can learn from this!). But the side windows are very distorting.

The headlights and indicators (not high enough, as you can see in relation to the radiator grille) and the rearview mirrors are inserted. The rear lights are painted. The windscreen wipers are moulded into the body and windscreen.

The wheels are a little too big, but nothing really shocking.

The interior is beige, the dashboard is black. The steering wheel has too big a rim.

The car can be dismantled by removing the rear bumper, then unsnapping a pin under the bonnet. Photo of the dismantled model.

The Volvo 343 / 345 (depending on the number of doors) was manufactured from 1976 to 1980. It was the result of the DAF 77 project taken over by Volvo when DAF was acquired in 1975. This is why it was fitted with the Variomatic transmission. Its engine was a Renault “Cléon fonte”.

Main characteristics: rear-wheel drive, in-line 4-cylinder engine 1397 cm³, 52 kW (70 hp) DIN. 155 SR 13 tyres. Weight 980 kg. Maximum speed 145 km/h.
