Simca 1100
At last, a model, and a correct one at that, of one of the best-selling French cars of the 1970s.
The respect of the scale is very good, except for the excessive width of the tyres (+30%!), which is a very common defect.
Headlights, mirrors, steering wheel and bumpers inserted. Painted rear lights and fog lights. As already noted on the CX estate, the metallic paintwork has too visible particles. This can be seen in the photos. The interior is straw yellow, the dashboard and steering wheel are black.
The windscreen and rear window are flush. The windscreen wipers are moulded half with the body and half with the windscreen. They are thin, and painted black.
Problem: this model has a rear window characteristic of the first cars, this one having been enlarged in 1972, as on the real model of the photo opposite. However, it has door handles with paddles which only appeared in 1975. There is an unfortunate contradiction here.
The Simca 1100 was produced from 1967 to 1981.
Characteristics (model 1100 GLS 1976): front wheel drive, four cylinder in-line engine, 1118 cm3, 42,5 kW (57 ch) DIN. Tyres 145 SR 13. Top speed 140 km/h. Weight 930 kg.
