Brekina 14700
Renault 4 van 1963
Oversized wheels (rims ⌀ 4.1 instead of 3.8, i.e. + 8%) and tyres too wide (see dimensions). Front bumper too low (and, apparently, they did it on purpose, see this document)! The funny thing is that the photo of the real model shown on their own page contradicts their claims!
Let’s continue: curved grille bottom while it should be straight. It is the opposite for the windscreen whose high and especially low edges should be curved, and the lower corners should be much more rounded. The windows of the side doors are not high enough. Finally, they would have done better to avoid the pseudo-functional “girafon” (opening upper back trap)!
If Brekina starts competing with Herpa in terms of blunders, where are we going to?
The R4 van was produced from 1961 to 1984. The Brekina model dates 1963 (flat front bumper, no longer tubular).
Features (1963 model): 747 cm³ four-cylinder in-line engine, 19.5 kW (26.5 hp) SAE. Tyres 135 or 145 × 330. Top speed 100 km/h approx.

Disappointing model, unworthy of Brekina!
The positive, anyway: model painted. Headlights and tail lights inserted. Windscreen flush. Respect of the special bumper shape: in stamped sheet metal at the front, in tube at the back. But…
